Þroskahjálp (Iceland's National Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) fights for the rights and interests of people with disabilities. Every year, the sale of this calendar is one of Þroskahjálp's largest fundraising efforts.
During the first few months, the calendar is sold with a lottery ticket, and after that, the calendar is sold on its own.
Prizes in the lottery include gift vouchers for experiences, hotel stays, as well as numerous works of art, both originals and prints, by many of the nation's most beloved artists, including the fantastic artists who have works featured in the calendar.
Artist of the 2027 Calendar
This year we present a calendar with works of art by the artist Ingi Hrafn Stefánsson
Hallgrímskirkja church appears regularly in Ingi Hrafn's work. He visits the site, photographs the building, and then continues to work with its form and appearance in his paintings. In this way, the same landmark becomes different pictorial worlds depending on the light, season, and color palette.
Ingi Hrafn's works have been exhibited both here in Iceland and abroad. In 2026, he had, among other things, two works in the exhibition "Small City, High City – Reykjavík in Images" at Kjarvalsstaðir.
Þroskahjálp (Iceland's National Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) continues to fight for the visibility and opportunities of artists with disabilities. In this year's calendar, we get to know the works of Ingi Hrafn and his unique perspective on familiar landmarks and surroundings.
